Available to our members, borrowing privileges give you access not only to materials from our collection but also to materials from the many other libraries across the continental United States that partner with us through the Inter-Library Loan System.

Specialized Reference Assistance

Specialized staff assistance is available for members. Whether you need an individually customized tutorial on how to use the library catalog or a database or an in-depth reference consult, our staff stands ready to assist you.

Research Databases

The Library has access to research databases due to our consortial affiliations.  Please contact the Library Services department at reference@pritzkermilitary.org or 262-800-7402 to receive the list of databases, which includes access instructions.

The program is dedicated to conserving the unique Stories of Service of the Citizen Soldier. View the oral histories.

Museum & Library members have access to 10,000+ diverse e-book titles. With your membership ID, you will be able to view and check out these resources on your computer or mobile device. Since this collection is shared by many libraries, the titles available are more varied than our physical holdings. In addition to the books shared by the consortium, there are also titles available exclusively for our members’ use.

These reading lists, curated by each of the branches of the U.S. military and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, provide service members with a guide to expand knowledge and develop innovative thinking.

Accumulating and sharing our unparalleled collection of resources on military history is just half the battle — and the Museum & Library staff is proud to offer research services designed to help answer your questions and to break down those brick walls in your quest to discover your family legacy. Membership is required to take advantage of this service.

History lives in the volumes of our exceptional rare book collection. The Museum & Library has over 3,000 rare books in its collection, including the Famiano Strada's De Bello Belgico which is also known as The History of the Low-Countrey Warres (London: 1650) and John Entick's The General History of the Late War: Containing It's Rise, Progress, and Event, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and America (London: 1763).  Additionally, the collection includes a growing assortment of unit histories, such as Civil War regimentals; cruise books, like those from the USS Chicago and the USS Essex; and sheet music from WWI and WWII.Open for members by appointment only.

With over 250 archival collections that focus on the personal stories of citizen soldiers, the Museum & Library has materials related to service members in nearly every U.S. war, with our strengths being World War I, World War II, and U.S. Army service members. Our archives are open to the public by appointment only.
