We stand ready to fight by our Vietnamese friends!

In the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam) the state controlled most forms of public media including newspapers and radio. The state produced propaganda implying all communist countries throughout the world supported the North Vietnamese war to expel the American invaders from Vietnam. The United States was interested in protecting the border established in the Geneva Accords of 1954. The communists in North Vietnam, however, wanted to bring the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) under their control.   This poster shows the flags of the Soviet Union, the Republic of Poland, the People’s Republic of China, Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea, the Union of Burma, and the Republic of Cuba beside those of the North Vietnam and the National Liberation Front (Viet Cong).
