SOCS (SEAL) John Marcum

Senior Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) John Marcum was killed September 12, 2008, during a firefight with heavily armed militants in Afghanistan. His unit had been forward deployed to conduct combat operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was assigned to an East Coast based SEAL team.

In the days, months, and years following the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States, Navy SEALs have been called upon more so than ever to employ their unique set of skills in accomplishing our nation’s most dangerous and covert operations.
