The Warrior Father
“Of the five years I’ve been a SEAL,” explains one man, “My family has seen me a total of five months.”
Imagine. In a child’s life five years equals birth to kindergarten. Five years can translate into first words, first steps, holidays, and little league seasons.
“Of course it takes courage and commitment to be a SEAL, but at the end of the day it is all about family: the family that is your fellow SEAL, the families of each individual SEAL, and every American family, for whom these people dedicate so much. For all of us – service members or citizens – sacrifice, brotherhood, and family are difficult to practice well, but when done right, these are the things that keep us strong in everyday life.”
