Spanish Model 1916 short rifle

Rifle has a wood frame with a steel barrel and action. Stamped on the top of the receiver is, a Spanish "Falangist" crest, a fascist symbol which depicts a fasces (a bundle sticks with an axe head) crossed with a sword. It is also a symbol for the La Guardia Civil. The end of the barrel is stamped with, "Ovieda Spain M1916," and, "SAMCO Miami 308W." Various makers marks and serial numbers are stamped on the rifle.

Rifle is marked as being chambered for the .308 Winchester round, which is mostly interchangeable with but not 100% identical to the 7.62 x 51 mm round.
