Book and Paper Conservation Services
The Pritzker Military Museum & Library's state-of-the-art Book and Paper Restoration and Conservation Lab repairs and preserves important materials for individuals and organizations.
Services Offered
Books and Manuscripts:
Cleaning, mold removal, stain removal, re-binding, re-backing, re-casing, removal of mending tape and adhesive residue, replacing areas of loss, solvent-set and heat-set tissues, gilding and cover detail restoration
Dustwrappers and Paper Materials:
Restoration, conservation, restoration of loss, aqueous wash stain and foxing removal, adhesive removal and replacement, de-acidification, mending, in-painting, coating and artwork restoration
Protective Enclosures Construction:
Custom construction of cloth-bound and leather-bound drop boxes, clamshell boxes, four-flap enclosures, display boxes, etc.
