2014 Liberty Gala
Thank you to all who made our 2014 Liberty Gala the most successful in our history—a special evening that celebrated and supported the work of the Pritzker Military Museum & Library and honored the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, past and present.
Renowned historian and author Antony Beevor received the 2014 Pritzker Military Museum & Library Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement in Military Writing. Sponsored by Tawani Foundation, the award recognizes a living author for a body of work that has profoundly enriched the public understanding of military history. Beever is a distinguished Fellow of Britain's Royal Society of Literature and a former officer of the Bitish Army's 11th Hussars who has been heralded as one of the world's finest military historians. He has published four novels and 10 books of nonfiction, including the bestseller Stalingrad, and has sold more than six million copies of his works in 30 languages. See his acceptance speech here.
